Megawatt‑Grade Open‑pit Mining Truck Charging System

Our megawatt‑grade mining truck charging system is purpose‑built for heavy‑duty electric haul trucks in open‑pit mines. We hold the largest volume of real‑world megawatt‑charging field deployments for open‑pit mining trucks across domestic China. This modular MCS‑compatible charging solution supports multi‑gun simultaneous high‑power charging, dust‑sand‑resistant potted power modules, and optional autonomous robotic charging interfaces for driverless mining fleets. We provide local control and cloud‑based fleet energy‑management platform for full‑site charging monitoring, load dispatching and OTA maintenance.

Important Note: Standard hardware is for surface open‑pit mine only. It cannot be deployed directly in underground explosive‑risk environments without full explosion‑proof modification & corresponding mining‑safety certification.

Core Key Advantages

  • Proven massive open‑pit mine track‑record: We deliver the largest quantity of operational megawatt‑level mining‑truck charging station cases in Chinese open‑pit coal, iron and non‑metal mines. Our equipment shows mature site‑verified performance under real heavy‑load mining production cycles.
  • Native MCS megawatt high‑current support & multi‑gun simultaneous charging: We adopt modular matrix power‑scheduling architecture. Our system supports MCS megawatt liquid‑cooled terminals. Multiple charging guns work simultaneously with intelligent dynamic power allocation. Power resources can be automatically redistributed among vehicles according to real‑time BMS demand, maximizing overall equipment utilization rate. System power can scale from MW up to multi‑MW for large‑size mining fleets.
  • Potted power modules for anti‑dust & anti‑sandstorm harsh mine environment: Our core power units adopt full potting process. IP55 outdoor enclosure design, resisting heavy mine dust, sand wind, vibration and large temperature swing, reducing field failure rate and lowering on‑site maintenance workload in open‑pit mining zones.
  • Compatible with autonomous / driverless mining truck automatic charging: Our system reserves interface for robotic automatic‑charging mechanism. It supports unmanned whole‑process charging workflow: vehicle positioning, robotic plug‑in, charging monitoring, auto‑unplug. It perfectly matches 24‑7 driverless open‑pit mine operation mode, cuts manual labor cost for charging‑post attendants.

Typical Application Scenarios

  • Large‑scale open‑pit iron mine / coal mine / lithium mine electric haul‑truck centralized charging depot
  • Mixed‑fleet site: manned heavy mining trucks + autonomous driverless mining haulers
  • Mine depot requiring multi‑vehicle simultaneous fast‑charging to shorten vehicle downtime
  • Mine sites with dusty, windy, wide‑temperature‑variation open‑air operating conditions

Grid Requirement Guidance (critical for mining customers)

  • Small‑to‑medium charging depot (2‑4 charging bays, total power ≤8 MW): Dedicated medium‑voltage transformer is required, matched according to total installed charging power. We suggest to reserve 20‑30 % power margin for future capacity expansion.
  • Large‑scale mining charging hub (5+ bays, total power ≥10 MW): Need dedicated mine sub‑station, medium‑voltage incoming grid, high‑capacity switch‑gear cabinet set. Full load peak power will surge significantly when many mining trucks start charging concurrently.
  • For mine sites with insufficient existing grid capacity: We strongly recommend deploying on‑site BESS battery‑energy‑storage system as power buffer. Energy‑storage absorbs peak charging impulse, avoids transformer overload, and can defer expensive grid‑upgrade investment.
  • System feature: built‑in dynamic load‑limiting function: Our charging system supports setting upper total‑power limit, preventing simultaneous‑charging peak load from exceeding transformer rated capacity, protecting mine existing power‑distribution assets.

FAQ

Can your system work for driverless / autonomous mining trucks?

Yes. Our charging system reserves standard interface for robotic automatic‑charging devices. It supports full‑automatic charging workflow without manual cable‑plug‑in operation. It has been tested cooperating with domestic autonomous mining‑truck fleets. Vehicle‑side communication protocol needs joint confirmation before project execution.

How does your potted module perform in heavy‑dust open‑pit mine?

Our core power modules adopt full potting design plus IP55 cabinet enclosure. It provides good resistance against mine dust, sandstorm and mechanical vibration. It greatly reduces internal dust‑caused faults compared with ordinary fan‑cooled open‑structure modules. Routine cabinet surface cleaning maintenance is still required.

What if my mine site grid capacity is not sufficient for megawatt‑level charging?

Two feasible solutions:
① Use our built‑in dynamic load‑scheduling function to stagger charging time windows, limit real‑time total power draw;
② Deploy container‑type BESS energy‑storage system as peak‑shaving power buffer. Storage releases power during truck‑charging peak to avoid transformer overload, so you do not need immediate large‑scale grid upgrade. We can work with third‑party BESS suppliers for system integration.

Can I expand charging‑bay quantity later after the station is built?

Yes. Our matrix modular architecture supports step‑by‑step capacity expansion. You can add power‑cabinets and charging terminals on‑site without replacing the whole main control system. Please reserve civil‑construction space and grid margin in early‑stage mine‑station design.

Do you support overseas export? What certifications are available?

Most of our project references come from domestic Chinese open‑pit mines. CE certification is available; UL certification needs project‑specific customization and additional cycle. For overseas mining projects, please confirm target‑market certification requirements in advance before placing order.

Can these chargers be used in underground mine?

Our standard product is only for surface open‑pit mine. It is NOT suitable for underground explosive‑hazard working zones. Underground deployment requires complete explosion‑proof reconstruction plus corresponding local mining‑safety certification (IECEx / MA).

What technical services do you provide for mine‑site commissioning?

We supply system commissioning, parameter tuning for mining‑truck BMS matching, cloud‑platform configuration, operator training, remote online monitoring support. On‑site engineer dispatch service is available upon request.
