Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) | Large Scale Mineral Powder Grinding Mill
Product Overview
Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) is an advanced integrated grinding equipment widely used for large-volume powder production. It combines grinding, drying, classification and material conveying into a single compact unit. Materials fall onto the rotating grinding table, then are crushed and milled by hydraulic pressurized rollers. Hot air flows through the mill to dry wet feed, while the built-in dynamic classifier separates fine powder. Coarse particles fall back to the grinding zone for regrinding.
VRM is designed for continuous heavy-duty production. It can process raw materials with high moisture content up to 15~20%. With low specific energy consumption, high automation and large single-unit capacity, it is the preferred solution for large mineral powder plants, cement raw material grinding, slag powder and coal pulverizing projects in Australia, Latin America and Africa.
Core Advantages
- Multi-function Integrated Design
Grinding, drying, classification and transportation in one machine. Simplifies plant layout and reduces auxiliary equipment investment. - High Capacity & Low Power Consumption
Large single machine throughput; lower unit power consumption compared with traditional ball mill. Saves long-term electricity cost for mass production. - Strong Drying Capacity
Hot air directly contacts raw material inside the mill. Suitable for raw ore with moisture up to 15~20%, no need for separate dryer. - Wide Adjustable Powder Fineness
Dynamic high-speed classifier, finished powder from 80 mesh up to 1250 mesh, ultra-fine version can reach 3000 mesh. - High Automation & Stable Operation
PLC centralized control, real-time monitoring of vibration, pressure, temperature and load. Less manual operation required for 24h continuous running. - Export Standard Package
Supports CE certification, IEC electrical components, full English technical drawings, P&ID, FAT test report and operation manuals for global mining and industrial projects.

FAQ
Q1: What materials can vertical roller mill process?
A1: It can grind non-flammable minerals with Mohs hardness ≤9, including limestone, slag, coal, barite and kaolin. It handles high-moisture feed up to 20% which Raymond mill cannot process efficiently.
Q2: What is the difference between VRM and Raymond Mill?
A2: VRM is for large-scale high-output production with built-in drying function and higher automation. Raymond mill suits small-medium capacity projects with lower investment. VRM consumes less power per ton of powder.
Q3: Can vertical roller mill produce ultra-fine powder?
A3: Yes. Equipped with high-efficiency dynamic classifier, standard product reaches up to 1250 mesh; optional ultra-fine configuration can achieve 3000 mesh powder.
Q4: How to protect the mill from vibration damage?
A4: The system has vibration sensors and hydraulic overload protection. Stable feeding quantity and particle size are critical to reduce vibration and extend service life of rollers and table liner.
Q5: Does VRM require a separate dryer?
A5: Normally no. Hot air passes through the grinding chamber and dries the material during grinding, which saves the cost of independent drying equipment.
Q6: What export documents and certifications are available?
A6: CE certificate, 3D model, P&ID drawings, dimension layout, FAT report, English operation & maintenance manual, spare parts list for overseas project acceptance.
